I assumed it would be able to be toggled since there are situations where you absolutely wouldn't need the lights, but for general transportation they would be a nice addition.

I have noticed this as an issue even more so with land vehicles. Yesterday I tried to drive through a wood and chicken wire fence and it kill myself and the occupants of my vehicle.

This Isn't a high priority issue but I do agree.
