Are you desynching? Because that is what is happening to me. Feels like everytime a player gets near me, I get the red/yellow things.

I have the problem too, I tried everything to make my character not thirsty. Scavenged a full town and drank as much water as possible and still couldn't dent the 'Thirsty' bar.

I have been having the same problem here also. I posted a report about it but didn't word it right, you hit it spot on though!
