I think another way. 30 sec is not enouth, it should be like 90 sec or more to push players move to the forest before they logout. Respawn in the town ruin gameplay.

  1. Joining server
  2. Doing nothing, just stand in the forest
  3. After 2 mins fps drops to 0-15
  4. After 5 mins game crashed

Got the same problem. Yesterday my character die and I started new one. But today after login my character reseted like 2 days ago, so I got my old character with all my gear before I was killed.
