I am a server admin and assumed it was the server having an issue. Playing with 4 friends and FPS was around 5fps. Restarted server and it was even worse. Tried two more restarts with not improvement. All of our pings were around 30-50ms and no desync. Please push a hot fix to resolve this.
For us we saw a correlation between rain/thunder and this issue.
115106 patched
• FPS in cherno seems a little lower than usual (say 5-8 fps lower)
• There was noticable infrequent stuttering, sometimes, a 2-3 second freeze
• If I looked up in the sky in Cherno, I got 70 fps, however there was the occasional stuttering if I waited long enough
• Cloud texture has visual banding, don't think it used to have this
• Backpack model (green, low profile), was glitching (sometimes blinked out of existence and back in)
• Texture around jet wreck in cherno on ground (overlapping road) very pixelated
• General lighting seems a little darker
• I did see the rain effect, probably a new thing
I was wearing lots of camo clothing, an M4, and backpack full of stuff.
The server I was on, had few players, with moderate ping.
I logged on this evening to test this, and played for about 10 minutes.
The M4 my char has, has a "painted" magpul buttstock and maybe a few magazines, don't know if this info matters.

Just discovered the following (if your FPS are constantly dropping and not from 60 to 0)
Join any server.
Wait until let's say 15 FPS have been reached.
ALT+TAB out of the game.
Tab into the game again.
I've had 60FPS after I tabbed to my desktop and switched to the game again. oO
Could anyone confirm this?
Nope, not the paint. Alpha can no longer be tested for me right now the fps has dropped so badly. And the rain, - that kills it even more. in an open field.
AMD-8350 16GB ram, Win7x64 running on 3 SSDs and eVGA GTX 770 SC 4GB w/ACX.
I heard something about "Monday", where can i read more about this Monday memory Leak fix?
i dont think fps drop has anything to do with a memory leak. normally dayz uses 2.4 gb of vram and like 2-3 gb of system ram for me. gtx 680 classified with 4gb vram
Just logged in again to see what happens to the GPU-memory (posted my system setup couple ago above!)
-Logged in. As I said before: ~60fps / 800MB memory used GPU ~ 50 %
-Ran around, small city and forest (like 2mins after I joined the server): 40 FPS / 1200MB used GPU still at ~ 50 %
-finally, 5mins later I dropped to zero frames and the game completely freezes. The last information my overlay reported was "FPS 0.5 / Memory: 1973MB / GPU load 13 %"
At least one of us 5 players is able to play, he's playing with the GTX660 w/ 2GB memory.
We've checked our settings; we've got the same texture/video... settings set.
2 of us have their guns painted. But it doesn't matter I think, the other guys haven't painted their weapons and had the same error occuring.
@ Z4RATHOUSTRA I did and had the issue, I dumped the weapon that was painted as I didn't want it anymore, still had the problem, stopped playing for a while joined a different server with out a painted weapon still got the same problem.
Not only that but I was playing with a few friends, who had no weapons and they were having the same frame drops, freeze for a second or so at the exact same time then at the same time all 4 of us had a complete freeze where we either had to do a force shut down of our systems or managed to get out via task manager.
Not sure if it's related but I also noticed several cases of texture flickering on various items in game, including soda cans, food tins, weapon attachments and even zombies and buildings.
Rageddrew / hrdrok : have you got a paint weapon in the game ?
Please answer maybe without paint thing we can play id like to know
I'm having the same problem, wasn't an issue until we went to the 0.34 version.

Issue occours anywhere on the map, ive managed to move from elektro to the new town in north, every 10-15min everything freezes and i need to ctrl-alt-delete and close dayz process. Nothing specificly happens cept that gpu goes idle just before the freeze. Ive tried thirdparty memoryflush for gpu and regular memory - same issue (just slightly delayed). Adding the GPUrenderahead= to '3' in cfg helped alittle with the fps, but the freeze still occur.

Anon13: ok i think its that my friends with not painting weapons are playing without any problems now !
If someone else can confirm that !?
Wife and I experienced the problem on two different servers. Starts immediately after joining the server. Our network did not appear to be the problem as the ping was constantly in the upper 20s. Bandwidth not the issue either as both servers were showing over 700 minimum. Resetting router and modem did not improve conditions in game. Task manager shows game creeping up into the 1.4 GB range on RAM usage.
Both computers have Nvidia, one 680 GTX 4GB & the other 770. 3770k and 32GB ram in each. SSD in one. HHD in the other. Win 7 Ult OS for both.
I have a non sprayed Mosin and I do not have FPS problems.
J'ai une Mosin pas colorée et je n'ai pas de problèmes avec mes IPS.
I had one and dropped it and tried running for a while without it. Made no difference for me. Others have reported having this issue but not even having a weapon at all other than a hatchet.
A question for all people who have the problem (excuse my english im french)
Can you tell me if you have a paint thing with you (m4/mosin)...etc
Because with my group all person who have paint thing have the problem fps drop, and person who have not paint thing have not the problem ..!
Can you confirm please, have you git paint thing ?
I experienced the same problem, but only after several hours of gameplay (without problems).
My buddy experienced it right after login.

Some additional information for the devs on locating the source of this FPS drop which I'm also experiencing:
A: It worsens the moment someone spawns in your proximity (was absolutely reproducible with two buddies of mine).
B: Using the tip from the forum member "Droopy Piles" who stated:
"I CAN CONFIRM THIS WORKS!!!
goto C:\Users\YourUserName\Documents\DayZ"
there is a .cfg data - open it and run it with editor.
scroll down till u find this and change both parameters to 3:"
GPU_MaxFramesAhead=3;
GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=3; " "
When applied, this seems to fix the problem, but really just delays it. You won't have an FPS drop for a bit, maybe 15 mins, but that's no definite time, and then it starts again just like without the fix.
Hope this helps.

Too sad to waiting monday
Find some people to work at night please

Yepp it seems to be a memory leak but it also seems not to be effecting every one, it works just fine for my friend even if the game client takes up about 1.5gb mem for him as well.
Rocket stated on Reddit a little while ago that they will be investigating a memory leak for this issue on Monday.

Something really changed with the new patched to make the game fps slow down to the point it locks up my computer.
Just adding my support to this. Something is definitely up with the latest patch and FPS performance. It's nearly unplayable in large cities.
OS: Windows 8.1 64-bit (6.3, Build 9600) (9600.winblue_gdr.131030-1505)
CPU: AMD Phenom(tm) II X6 1100T Processor (6 CPUs), ~3.3GHz
Memory: 8192MB RAM
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Ti
I can confirm the excessive memory usage. When loading into game memory usage was about 800MB. Over the course of 30 mins it ballooned to nearly 1.8GB, at which time GPU usage went down to around 10% on both GPUs. Follow link for screenshot.
Same problem here.
Start with stabil FPS, after 1min the FPS is going down. After a while, the game stops (no FPS).
System:
Still have the issue when i set the speed of the CPU to the standart (3,4). So it`s not an overclocking problem.
GPU 1#: Start with 60% Power. After 10 sec. it starts drops between 30-60% Power. The FPS is going down, the power is still going down, after 2 min the GPU don`t make anything. -> Game freezes.
GPU 2#: Don`t make anything.
RAM is now really funny. It`s always increasing! Nothing works, but the RAM is go up and up...
#Question: Is there anybody with a ATI/AMD GPU here, and have the same issue?
Same issue here as well. Doesn't matter if it's in cities or woods. Seems to get worse after being in game for about 10 minutes. Only began after update to 116 stable branch patch.
I usually run between 50-75FPS depending on where I am. Now it's staying mid 30s and drops into the teens regularly. Totally unplayable right now.
On my second monitor I have been watching CPU and GPU usage. GPU usage is dropping below 20% on both cards. CPU usage is dropping to less than 30% on all 4 cores. There's definitely a problem somewhere.
System Specs:
i5 3570K OC'd to 4.2GHz
8GB DDR3-1600
2x GTX 670 in SLI
256GB SSD
Win 7 x64
Same for me. Logged in, just sittin' in a building. 60 FPS / 30% GPU-usage. The frames keep dropping till 0FPS / 60% GPU-usage (??).
Temperatures OK, CPU OK, RAM OK
GPU-memory usage: ~1400MB (got 3072MB).
Not sure what causes this effects to happen. But it's unplayable at the moment. Especially if you think of the 30sec logout-delay which is (of course) triggered by stopping DayZ.exe if you can't move any more (because of zero FPS).
*System specs:
i5 3570k@4,3GHz

My mate got the same problem with nearly the same setup but the GPU. It's a Nvidia GTX660 for him.
Same here.. after 3 - 5 minutes ingame my frames drop from stable 30-40 to unplayable 1-8!
Hi. there a screenshot 1 minute after Login and one more 4 1/2 mintues after Login.
fps-drop 47 to 1-3 fps.
After 5 minutes dayZ chrashes.
No movement in this time.
Same on tested 5 Servers.
Same for me, tested several different video settings with no visible results. The issue occurred after the latest patch (0.34), worked just fine before the patch. When I was in Berezino it was a lot worse with freeze lag every ~15s.

Hey guys!
This meanie has been fixed internally and will be patched in the next update!
Thanks goes to everyone who helped us fix this issue. Kudos!

Thank you very much
Yup, thought I've thrown away all that bad flickering stuff. But just found some Spite in my protectorcase!
Since I threw them away, I don't have any problems. Seems to work.
If you don't know what we're talking about:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzHZhsb-Ssg
Just to explain what that "flickering" means.
No crash, but extremely low FPS.
i7 2600k 3.6 ghz
NVIDIA 560 TI, Core 900 MHZ, Shaders 1800 MHZ, 2100 MHZ memory
8 GIG DDR3 Dual Channel
It definitely has something to do with corrupted textures on old gear. I had a yellow protector case that was full of food and drink items that were obtained pre-patch. The textures for the items were glimmering and appeared brown-ish in color. I dropped the items, ran about 200 meters away from them and my FPS shot back up to the 60s where they usually are for me.
This was further reinforced when a clan mate joined the game shortly thereafter close to my position. He also experienced the same bug. I had him check his inventory for glimmering items. He found several cans of food and a mag pull attachment for his M4. He dropped the items, we ran away from them and both of our FPS rates went back to normal again.
We noticed when in a few towns that the FPS was poor again. So it's hard to say if that was a texture problem with one of the buildings in town, or if someone else had also found and dropped inventory items that were giving them texture issues.
Yep this update with the rain has put a complete halt of my playing this game 4 Zombies attacking me while I'm totally lagging and then I'm dead is just plain stupid..Plz fix..
A propos "Catalyst 14.1".
I just compared the "14.1 BETA" and the "13.12":
with the stable release "13.12" I got about 10 FPS more than with the "14.1".
Since last update (0.34.115106) I have long fps drops connected with more memory usage (I have 8 GB) and flickering textures (usually sprayed items like sprayed parts of M4). With my nVidia Fermi VGA (1GB N560GTX-Ti) on my game quality settings (LOW-NORMAL) I have usually aprox 60fps, but after 20-40 minutes fps decrease under playable minimum - 30 fps. Near 15 fps are problems connected with long freezes - Dayz stop working message or recomendation of stoping dayz for heavy RAM usage.
I think, that long duration fps drops are caused by bug in memory management and they have connection with loading certeain item textures (usually sprayed items).
My solution is restart game (clear textures from memory) and reconect to diferent server. And i have 60fps back for at least 20 min.
As mentioned earlier, I got stuttering with the new patch and some flickering items, and somewhat lower fps afaik.

texture on, then off, then on etc. thats the cause of fps drops, freezes and crashes
you are right buddy. i had the same flickering item. it was the beans. i have dropped the beans and now the lags and fps-drops are gone.
