Give to the player the feeling of heavy equipment (the weight should some affect max-movement speed)
Acknowledged, WishlistPublic

Description

If a player has a heavy backpack, launcher, heavy armored vest and other big weight, then he will only tire quickly and on this, the weight effect ends.
But until he is not too tired, the player will always have the same maximal movement speed with a soldier, that does not have heavy equipment! Unfortunately, this moment is not realistic, because We know, that in the real life, the man without the big weight, will always move faster.

It would be wonderful to see the some impact (not big!) of portable weight on maximal-speed of movement. You can also add the sound carrying equipment. Thus, the player at any point in the movement might feel the weight of their equipment.

For example, the portable weight, can have a linear effect on the movement speed with only a small slowdown, in the range of 10-12% for medium-speed movement, and 15%-30% slowdown for the maximal movement speed of infantry man.

I hope in Nexus update the influence of weight will some affect the speed of movement

Damn right, i know what its like to carry a missile rig and a launcher on your back and that definitely slows a person down.

But don't forget it's a game! Too much realism kills playability (no fun to cross a 15 km world with excessive fatigue). So, i recommend, as usual, to parameter this in difficulty setting. Downvoted until something in that way.

@PiepMGI. Yes it's only a game. But if the developer already uses a fatigue system in the this game, then this item needs attention! I don't offer much to slow down the soldier. I think required only not big impact(15-30% not more) and most likely only for sprint. Otherwise, the soldier with only 1 pistol in his hand(without any ammo) and a soldier with a heavy backpack, vest, helmet and launcher on his back, will always run at the same speed! This is detail looks not good/

How would it be if they make it in 2 values.

  1. Speed : The more weight you carry the slower you are.
  2. Fatigue : the more you carry the faster you gain fatigue, but not as fast as now. But then they need to change the fatigue system because a light equipped soldier cannot run 200m.

"This is detail looks not good"
You're probably right for a combat simulator. I don't understand where is the difficulty to let decide players about the level of realism! Each time I underline the need to have a new param setting for fatigue/stamina, people pleads for more (or less) fatigue.
On my opinion, priority is not for more player's fatigue, but for AI's one. I don't understand how enemy AIs could run , be hard wounded and kill you in one shot. Their skills are awful. And they can see you and fire thru vegetation and walls corners, but not players. Did you remark any sway on AI's weapons?

Thats not related but yes they have that kind of function and BI is fixing the xray view step by step.

@TheMasterofBlubb totally agree with your two points.

@PiepMGI You are right also, but the AI-problems are not relevant to my issue;)

Why I created this question? When I play in ARMA3 and my character carries a large and full backpack, launcher and other ammo, then I don't feel it. I want to see a better simulation of weight, to the player always had a need to choose more carefully what equipment he should use.

One other point (not relevant but a little bit in fact):
