Linux dedicated server binaries decreased stability since last update
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Since last update, the linux server binaries are subjects to many random crashes. Tried several basic.cfg parameter and enabling/ disabling physX caching; server is still crashing even on low population.

The mission ran on the server is linked to the report.

Core dumps can be found on http://www.jammywarfare.eu/core_dumps/ please feel free to download them for debugging purposes {F26086} {F26087} {F26088} {F26089} {F26090} {F26091} {F26092} {F26093} {F26094} {F26095}

Additional Information

Some crashes seems to be related to libc6 around the following adress:

Program terminated with signal 11, Segmentation fault.
#0 0xf7572a71 in ?? () from /lib/i386-linux-gnu/libc.so.6

other are related to an unknown module (probably directly to the A3server always at the same adress) :

Program terminated with signal 11, Segmentation fault.
#0 0x0945a250 in ?? ()

Program terminated with signal 11, Segmentation fault.

Hello,
Thank you for reporting the issue.
We need crash dump files from this folder to analyze your problem.
C:\Users\<Name>\AppData\Local\Arma 3\
Can you upload somewhere in winrar package, please?
Archive smaller than 5000 KB can be attached directly to the ticket. For bigger archives, please use some free sharing service and post link here.

How to find correct crashdump file:
Try to make the crash happen
Look into crashdump folder
Upload crashdump with latest date in name (crashdump is rpt + bidmp + mdmp file with same name). Please try to provide as many crashdumps as possible, it helps us investigating the problem in a big way.

Thank you.

Hello,

Do you simply realise that no (bidmp + mdmp) are generated by linux server.

The crash dumps should be more that enougth to proceed to a debugging. (the execution stack point and the memory dump are present in it

It would be nice to have the ticket read before getting a copy paste anwser and categorized into "need more info".

Thank you.

Putting some more basinc imformations on the core dumps

Most crashes are reported @
0x945a250: mov 0x60(%eax),%eax

while EAX is null:
eax 0x0 0

Another crash is reported @

> 0xf75e1b91: movdqu %xmm0,(%esi)

Sorry my bad, did not realize that Linux generates different files. Unfortunately i cannot access most of your files form your website because access has been denied for some of the files. Any chance of granting me access or attaching the logs in a zip/ rar folder here? Thank you.

sure, there you go.

Also worth mentionning that the server is purelly vanilla, no mods or extension calls.

Was this issue fixed in the hotfix?

Nope issue is still present;

I am uploading only relevent core dump crashes log (related to libc6) to that issue on PERF 2

Filename : relevent_core_dumps3.zip

No more crashes with PERF 4, In fact stability for linux binaries have never been that high
