UH-80 Ghosthawk door gunner freelook

When playing as a UH-80 gunner, freelook is currently not possible. The field o' view is limited to where the barrel of the gun is pointing.

Also, multiple firing modes (such as high/low RPM) are not available as in previous titles.

Freelook is possible to implement, as it appears for a brief split second when you start the game as a UH-80 door gunner. At the moment, the game makes you aim down the sights no matter what. Please implement this, thanks!

Steps To Reproduce

1.) Hop into a UH-80's gunner position.
2.) Try to move your head around.
3.) Note how your view is fixed to the barrel of the gun and there no other RPM firing modes.

Additional Information


1.) Have freelook available when playing as a UH-80 door gunner.
2.) Have multiple firing modes (high/low RPM) available for the UH-80's mini-guns.

You can't use freelook when aiming and sitting in a gunner position is considered aiming.

why should a minigun have multiple RPM's? its a pointless waste of time to try and code that in. besides, what if miniguns only have one RPM in 2035?

Yeah, it's so pointless that it was in the previous two games.

Why would they? It would be a downgrade. What if we have flying unicorns in 2035? What if a magic peace treaty is signed and there is no war in 2035? Do we cancel the entire game then?

This would rather be a feature.

Would be really good to increase angle of minigun's movement on it's flexible mount. Now it's very very limited even if compared to UH-60 from A2/A2OA.

It would be cool if you could lean out the side too like on ACE for A2 so you could guide the pilot down for landing.

a feature? Yes... but a call of duty's feature...

This can be fixed by setting gunnerForceOptics = 0; in the MainTurret definition for Heli_Transport_01_base_F.

Please, try to maintain 1 bug/feature = 1 ticket ratio ;) Could you please put the request of variable RPM fire modes into a separate ticket?

Can confirm this is in dev branch (also checked 1.32 stable but the change didn't make it in).

Confirmed, fixed!
