Not sure what category this should be under so please adjust if needed. There should be a theater mode in game allowing players to go back and view past scenarios and record sections of game-play, sort of like the Halo and Call of Duty series have. This kind of mode will allow players to easily create films and review past engagements, like a combat log.
Like I said, this is only a suggestion that I believe many people will find useful.

Also, the ability to add filters and other effects may also be a plus.

As wrong as it feels to hear the game compared to call of duty, I'm gonna have to agree to this
Now the problem is: the amount of power needed to record the entire map of arma 3 along with all the details would simply kill your RAM.
Plus, an arma mission can continue indefinitely, so the video files produced would also be crazy.
So, I agree with the idea, but I know it won't be implemented.
Creating a file that would just record what's going on in the whole map at a particular moment is actually much easier and much lighter than a video. Can make you able to re run the game and film the thing from which ever angle you desire.
Upvoted but not really a priority.
@arziben I by no means am comparing this to Call of Duty, just referencing where this technology has been implemented. I do not prefer to hate on any company or organization and therefore use the brand name freely. But back to the point:
I just wish to have this for convenience sake,to help out people like me who wish to make a movie or playback key moments in a battle without to tediousness of recording every minute of game play. However it is only an extra bonus to the already great game coming out; like I said, it's only a suggestion.
Likely will need an add-on or third party module for this feature.
Doubt the developers are focused on this. I think it would be considered eccentric. They may already have something internal used for replication of bugs, and maybe will be produced as a third party module later on. ;-)
Another less resource intensive and much easier method is to duplicate the video display output and feed it to a recorder such as VHS or secondary computer video capture card. I'll place my bets on this later stated method as the preferred method.
Arma definetly produces moments in the game that are seemingly worthy of a film, or sometimes you just want to see those moments in third person. Would be a really valuable tool for the players and an impressive feature for arma games to boast about.
