Get killed in single player mission and use teamswitch feature to change character, then try to fire weapon.
Event Timeline
I can confirm this.
It seems with the death-screen they fade out all environmental sound to show this 'UAV-like' death screen with computer-sounds. When you then team-switch into another unit the computer-sounds remain and you cannot hear the environmental sounds from the perspective of your new unit. Radio-chatter works normally.
Definitely a major issue for people playing single-player sandbox in the editor.
This is an issue.
All audio ceases to play after a team switch, save for the ambient background noise (ie. crickets and forest sounds).

Yes, this is an issue. And as mentioned in some other incidents on the guywhoeatsjello's list, the same applies when respawning as a seagull.
As a workaround (for those playing in editor or creating own missions) executing following command fixes the problem.
2 fadeSound 1;
I don't lose sound after I die and respawn, but my teammate can no longer hear me fire. Maybe the same bug?
Switching this ticket to "feedback" so it can be found more easily. Most duplicates should be closed now.
I can also confirm this issue. No explosion and weapon sounds after using team switch (after death)
Please note for me issue 1933
not only the gun sounds are muted , most of the audio is gone
Indeed, this issue affects more than just the gun sounds. Updated the issue title accordingly.
*EDIT* This has been confirmed to be fixed with the latest dev update!
(my bad, needed to update)
ArmA3 Alpha (Dev) 0.53.103478
fenix395, can you double-check your version number then, because it's fixed in my build...
*EDIT* Ok, great! */EDIT*
