Issue description : Impossible to reload UH-1H Armed transport helicopter guns when their magazine is empty.
Tested directly as local game master
- Spawn a UH-1H Armed transport helicopter
- Spawn any character and take control of it
- Take a sit as gunner in the helicopter (left gunner in my test)
- Fire all rounds from your magazine (500x)
- Press "R" key to reload
- After the reload cycle is finished : you will still not be able to fire (nothing actually happened, the gun is still empty).
I tested the right gun too : same problem.
There are bugs there but not being able to reload is not it. The Armed chopper only has two magazines to start with. Both are already loaded into a their respective guns. So when you try to reload after the magazine is empty the only other magazine on the chopper is already loaded to the other machine gun. If you would try reload before the magazine is empty, the reload animation, sounds and the graphic on the ammo counter will play, but afterwards you are back with the same magazine.
You can add magazines to the chopper from arsenal either by carrying them in a backpack or if the arsenal and chopper are close enough to each other you can do it in inventory view by opening the subinventories and dragging magazines there.
What I consider to be a bug is the calculation error that the each gun shows the magazine count as 2, making most people think that there would be 4 magazines, when there actually is only 2, as each gun has 1 magazine loaded into the gun.
Ok, if both guns show the count as 2, there really should be 3 magazines in the chopper. 1 loaded into each gun and 1 extra in the trunk which either gunner can load into their gun.
Oops, my mistake. In my example I forgot that this game does not count the magazine in the gun to be part of the magazine count number when it is your personal weapon, only the graphic box that shows how many bullets are left tells you about the condition of the gun itself. (And it should be the same system for all the mounted weapons too, and in the case of multiple guns in the same vehicle none of the magazines that any of the guns are currently using should be counted as available extra magazines)
So in my example where both guns show the number 2 beside the ammo counter box, that should tell that there are 2 magazines in the trunk(inventory). That number should not tell anything about the condition of the guns themselves, that information is displayed only in the box shaped ammo counter graphic for each gun.
Double oops. Went back to do a more thorough testing, and the original post is correct and I was wrong. The magazines are counted correctly, just as I complained that they should be counted. There are 2 extra magazines in a freshly spawned UH-1H armed.
And the magazines cannot be reloaded. Not as partially used or empty. Tested in GM.
The one thing not previously mentioned is the visual model that shows bullets in the magazine (ammo box) and the feeding system even if the gun is empty, but that is trivial compared to the reloading issue.
