Intermediate stances work only with rifles and pistols in the hands, but not work for binoculars and launcher
New, NormalPublic

Description

Good day @Bis!

A player with a carbine or pistol in his hands can have intermediate positions (low crouch, high crouch, low full height, high full height)
But if the player picks up binoculars or launcher, then this ability disappears.
It's not just cosmetic damage, these positions are necessary for gameplay when player need to adjust the height for observation with binoculars in his hands or for shooting from behind cover with a launcher.
Please add lost positions in Arma3.There are serious reasons for that:

  1. A player with binoculars in their hands cannot hide in the grass or behind low cover and observe enemy, while with a carbine in their hands he can.
  2. A player with launcher in their hands cannot hide low in the grass or behind low cover, while with a carbine in their hands he can.
  3. If the player with primary weapon currently hides itself in the hight grass in a low crouch stance, as soon as he takes in his hands the binoculars, it will automatically rise higher and can unmask itself.
  4. a player with binocular in their hands cannot rise higher from standard full length stand to observe above an obstacle (fence, etc.), while with a carbine in their hands he can.
  5. a player with launcherin in their hands cannot rise higher from standard full length stand to fire above an obstacle (fence, etc.), while with a carbine in their hands he can.
  6. It's just inexplicable discrimination. In reality there can be no reason why a player with binoculars or a launcher cannot crouch lower or rise up, if it was possible with carabine.

This needs new animation files which most likely won't happen at this stage of development.

I don't see any argument from your side.
10 years development not enought in order to add these animations for the binoculars and the launcher, which by the way already exist for the carbine and for the pistol !?
Apart from the above, I see a lot of mods adding a lot of their new animations.

PS: I don't see any problems in this way for a such a powerful team as Bohemia Interactive Studio.
It seems to me that the most important component on this path is the desire to make Aram3 the maximal polished game, even after 10 years of support.

If I'm wrong then correct me.

It's not that they haven't had time, it's that most of BI's resources are now assigned to Reforger/A4/DayZ. The people on the team who would make animations are now busy making animations for other games. The few developers left on Arma 3 are mostly code and config specialists, not the developers who can make new assets like animations.

I can't say "never" without internal insight - maybe it'll turn out it's actually super easy to modify some existing animation and get these specific new ones - but with the current development situation, it is unlikely.

I express my strong support for the proposed feature. The lack of intermediate positions while holding binoculars or launchers is not only unrealistic but also significantly impacts gameplay in various situations.

In the interest of enhancing realism and improving the overall gaming experience, I kindly request that the development team consider implementing intermediate positions for binoculars and launchers in ArmA 3. This addition would not only help maintain consistency across weapon types but also promote more strategic and immersive gameplay.

Many players in the ArmA 3 community would greatly appreciate this update, and I am confident that it would contribute positively to the game's reputation for realism and tactical depth :)
