Barrel inventory not always visible (EXP Version 1.18.154955)

Description

When you walk upon a closed barrel and open it to see what's inside, the inventory will not show up. You will have to run away first so the barrel isn't in your vicinity anymore and then run towards it with your inventory screen open.
I believe car trunks have the same issue.

this even happens with cars... and it still a bug after the update today on EXP

Confirmed, could not get the barrel inventory to open until I ran a few dozen meters away.

Happens on Xbox too, not only a PC problem
