Stamina Sprint lockout does not regain to a sprintable state when overweight.
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

When your character is overweight and your stamina bar drains to 0%, You are permanently unable to sprint until weight is removed. The minimum stamina threshold for sprint needs to be removed in order for players to retain mobility after stamina has been drained 100%. This bug is very frustrating as it happens repeatedly, when climbing ladders, sprinting, combat, or exerting any type of stamina while overweight. This previously happened with jumping and now also happens with sprinting.

Let me clarify, The minimum sprint lockout needs to be REMOVED.
DO NOT change it so you can't sprint while overweight.

Easiest way to remedy this would be to make sprinting able to be recovered when overweight. Instead of your stamina bar being unable to regain to a sprintable state, make the sprint recovery after stamina reaching 0% a static value instead of a float based on current available stamina.

Thank you

They brought back the stamina recovery threshold in 1.05, because it caused horrible stuttering. It’s important there is a threshold in order to prevent that from happening.

But then, there SHOULD be a penalty for carrying too much stuff.

In a game where you can carry 2 primary weapons on your back, and 3 in a bag, we need to discourage players from doing so.

Also, sprinting-jogging-sprinting-jogging, etc. It’s essentially ‘high intensity interval training’... Try doing that when you’re overburdened with gear. (I know it’s a game, but still).

I agree that it can be frustrating (I remember it being an issue a few months ago), but I’d much rather deal with this, than the stuttering.

Whenever I carry a tire with an empty backpack my stamina take a massive hit I can't run out of stamina or it won't regain until I drop the tire and pick it back up again

Relevant to this, I’m still noticing a lot of stuttering if the you hold down sprint. Usually after your stamina is drained, and recovering.
