I have only tried on Tanoa. As well, this was on a multiplayer server.
- Prepare darter to launch.
- Set way point a large distance away 2km+. Darter will proceed for a time being and stop. Sometimes it will just start doing circles for no reason(way point was set to 'move'). Seems to happen at all altitudes that I set. I was mostly trying with 200m and 500m.
I did have a feeling that it may be something to do with drastic elevation changes over mountains. Although I did try sending a darter out over the ocean and after a couple km it stopped.

Event Timeline
The darter, at the end of a traveling point, wants to rise by the set height precisely. Very often it includes a roundabout, and goes in cycles - for two reasons:
- it not at the end of a traveling point
- it not at the set height
When it occurs, it is necessary to take over control of the UAV, to lift on the set height and to bring into the set point. But unfortunately, sometimes it won't rectify a situation. Something creates failure in his logician of behavior. When you throw control of the UAV, it can start rotating on a vertical axis, keeping a position in a point. Sometimes it is infinitely possible to try to calm him behavior, to switch on and off autonomy, to disconnect and connect the terminal.
It is possible to lift the second UAV which will make precisely and perfectly all operations of flight.
I often use UAVs. I can't find algorithm - how to stabilize the UAV. The UAV unexpectedly loses stability of behavior and unexpectedly comes back to stable behavior.
Thanks for the detailed explanation. I hope one day something gets figured out. It is frustrating always having to babysit it while I am trying to move my own character around the map.
I did ad a post for suggested feature:

I do believe having an option to set the altitude from sea level and not ground level might help for long flights.
The darter possesses opportunity to move rectilinearly, and sometimes loses this ability
Often uses not characteristic actions:
- ascent is followed by rotation on a vertical axis
- in a point of appointment continues rotation on a vertical axis
- ascent is followed by rotation on radius round a point appointments
Never uses:
- the movement to a point of appointment can't consist of two simultaneous actions, ascent with the simultaneous the movement to a point appointments.
The last controversial point, is in it "+" and "-".
But how the darter finds this ability when "goes crazy"?
