I had this problem temporarily a few times but fixed itself when reloading a mission. Haven't been able to recreate.
There also shouldn't be a constant visible line. They are the same as laser pointers; a dot visible where pointed, and a limited dispersion effect only seen when many particles in the air such as fog or smoke.

To Nickfury, when still moving it would be suppressive fire and vehicles do stop. Regardless there is no reason for it to be impossible just because it is not the most practical solution in very specific situations.
For those guessing how to implement, download the free vbs2 us army lite and put yourself as cargo or gunner in an m1151. Select toggle personal items from the action menu and give it a try.
No up-armor = no protection. That being said, even with armor, sometimes you want to take a more aggressive posture on a convoy. If your adversary has a lot of heavy weapons, RPGs for example, it is better to be able to deliver more firepower downrange than just sit in your little death trap. In real life you can open the windows if needed, and in VBS2 you can as well. The Arma series is a milsim after all, why constrain it like all the other cheese games?
Works great in VBS2, doesn't need to be implemented the same way but would love to see it in Arma3. For example, being a turret gunner with a Mk19 driving through a crowd of civilians with a suicide bomber running at you, I would really like the option to not cause massive collateral damage.
This is a very important feature. I really missed it using VBS2 in the Army as well. I am used to using supported positions whenever possible, using whatever is available, in real life, so it really kills the immersion (and my tactics) by not including it.
