I literally made an account just so I can talk about this. It's easily the worst piece of sound design in the game. Not only does it sound like audio recording peaks the mic, resembling the bullet snap audio. The audio cue plays every 10-20 seconds which seems way to excessive.
If the sound won't be changed anytime soon, the volume and frequency that it plays should absolutely be lowered.
