I have the exact same issue. Now can't play unless I die... really don't want to do that though - managed some good loot over the last couple days

I have the exact same issue.

I have had same issue as OP. I had a can opener in my hands and put on ground to pick up and eat an orange. After eating orange could not locate can opener - however, the orange was still on the ground.

Not only can they run through walls, but they seem to be able to see through said walls as well. Too often I am inside a building and all a sudden a zed that I didn't even know was there runs through a wall and attacks me.

EDIT: I also just got pushed through a wall an into a glicthed out room by an aggro zed, now stuck inside the glitched out room.
