You are aware there are two firing options for double barrel shotties? See the section under fire modes here: http://dayz.gamepedia.com/IZH-43

You can change the fire mode by pressing 'T' (but you can't tell which mode you're in until you shoot).

I have a similar issue, but none of the solutions above did anything :/ When I run DayZ from the steam interface, my screen goes black, I get a waiting cursor, then it pops back to the desktop. Running DayZ.exe directly does the same thing, but with the addition of a popup that states "Unable to locate a running instance of steam".

I uploaded my folder and dxdiag above, I don't know what to make of it though. Anything that might help would be really appreciated

NVM I got it to work by opening C://User/<Name>/My Documents/DayZ/DayZ.cfg and changing the Windowed value to 1
