I find that you don't need your fists up, you can just sprint through walls and fences. it works every time sprinting from the inside of a building out, it does not always work sprinting from the outside of a building in.

in my experience, you dont need fists up or to be looking at ground, you can just sprint through walls. it seems that you have to be pretty close to the wall/object to sprint through it.
