I think I solved.........somewhere in the Steam library (?) i found a way to check my DayZ install and an analysis revealed 2 corrupted files that gave me the option to automatically repair and I THINK all is good again .

just noting....your details section says OS is windows 7 but I actually have windows 11 home version . Are you asking me to uninstall windows and reinstall the operating system .....or reinstall steam ?
