I don't think so. Mine and friends character has been wiped too thanks to the DDoS attack, but after few minutes we got our characters back. So it might returned only to some players.

Hey there, this happened to me and friend too, around the same time. The servers (main hive I guess) were probably DDoSed again like few hours before. After few minutes of waiting we both joined back on one of the public servers and everything was fine and we had our characters, before the attack, back.
