The game was started with following parameters:

This is the message I get connecting to whatever online server I have tried so far, after a time. First one was after 2 hours, second one was only about 30 minutes, it takes me back to the desktop with this message (I have seen other users with different exit codes such as here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/107410/discussions/0/620712999969298998/?insideModal=1

It appears to be a problem with the most recent patch. Would appreciate a fix. {F26227} {F26228} {F26229}

Connect to any multiplayer server and play...after a period of time, it will crash out with a similar message to above.

Additional Information

Has not happened to me before the most recent patch. It MAY be something to do with a lot of action being rendered in - vehicles, explosions, players etc as that was present in both servers before the crash.

I'm having a similar issue, my game isn't starting at all. And my error is 0x406D1388 / 1080890248

Time running 1.2 seconds.

Same versio I believe.

Also having the same issue.
Every single time I get into a game.

Exit code: 0xC0000005 / -1073741819
Reson: unknown
Time running: ~ 00:01:55.4 seconds

This can be replicated by entering a multiplayer game and then hitting "Esc" key to access menu. seems it triggers it.

Exit code: 0x000000FF / 255
Reason: unknown

Found i fix this Video will help with fps and help the game not crash when u join a server https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z2yRBWPjRRI

I was able to go online join a server and choose a slot, but as soon as the loading progress bar would start it would pause and arma would hang indefinitely. I would be forced to close arma through task manager.
Error code 0xCFFFFFFF /-805306369
Reason: Unknown
Time running: ~00:04:45.8 seconds

Getting the same crash every time I am in a server. I never gotten this issue before.

The game was started with following parameters:

take off -ht (hyper trheathing) flag from start parameters and then try

I had this but it was caused by an external application (D3DGear in my case) so I un-installed it and haven't had it since :S

Hello,
Thank you for reporting the issue.
We need crash dump files from this folder to analyze your problem.
C:\Users\<Name>\AppData\Local\Arma 3\
Can you upload somewhere in winrar package, please?
Archive smaller than 5000 KB can be attached directly to the ticket. For bigger archives, please use some free sharing service and post link here.

How to find correct crashdump file:
Try to make the crash happen
Look into crashdump folder
Upload crashdump with latest date in name (crashdump is rpt + bidmp + mdmp file with same name). Please try to provide as many crashdumps as possible, it helps us investigating the problem in a big way.

Thank you.

I also have these problems and uploaded the crash dump files.

My problems often starts right after starting ArmA 3. (If i click on any menue it crashes.) Sometimes it helps to click on the Url's at the right side. Then I can run it for about half an hour till the next crash.

Hello, we are currently investigating the issue. Could you please provide us your dxdiag so we can make sure its not drivers related? You can find how to get your dxdiag file here:

I have the same problem. Uploaded my DX Diag

I haven't been able to play this game since I purchased it. Super annoyed.

So, I found a solution to this problem. I typed -malloc=system and -nolauncher in Steam properties and it worked!

k3il added a comment.May 17 2015, 6:01 AM

Nevermind. It started crashing after working once.

Still waiting for update on this. Not a happy chappy at all. Please work it out or at least give us some info as to where we can start troubleshooting.

I am having the same problem :(

This has to be video driver related. It started on the last ArmA update. It takes the video driver with it and a reboot is required for me to re-launch the game. I'm talking about 0xc0000005. People with other crash codes should probably file new reports.

If the code you're getting is not the same then you will only be polluting the information for this bug by contributing here.

Nvidia GTX 970
Possible overlay problems? Teamspeak, Steam (of course), MSI afterburner w/ rivatuner
Other possible hooks: OBS + Shadowplay(disabled)

For anyone still having the problem, I fixed it following the steps outlined in this forum post. (Namely the part about changing the pagefile size in the registry from 1 to 0.)

http://15thmeu.net/forums/index.php?PHPSESSID=pr4qcfbjhq57eo9bpie6g7en02&topic=33419.msg251082#msg251082

I'm convinced now that (on my system) this 0xc0000005 error is a side effect, and not the root of the problem. I only get 0xc0000005 when trying to restart the game after the first crash, which takes my video driver with it. The primary crash does not give an error code.

I've enabled logging so I can get some useful information to file a different report later today.

Uploaded mine as well.

No exists folder C:\Users\<Name>\AppData\Local\Arma 3\, uploaded image of folders in appdata\local
No dxdiag

12/06/2015 seems repaired, but no noticed

Ive been experiencing this error as well for some time now. It does seem sporadic.

With that being said: in the launcher settings I changed two things.

"Disable Launcher's UI hardware acceleration"
Action after game start: "Close launcher after clicking play"

I have yet (fingers crossed) to have this error since then.

Yup... I haven't seen any of these crashing game bugs until using the GUI launcher. And when the GUI launcher was first instituted, I started also having TrackIR problems.

I prefer starting ARMA 3 using the executable.

Just experienced this bug and performed Comment #0094730 by 10Cwaites. Hopefully all my crashing will finally stop. If not, I'll report back or away for the next patch. Could also be something with minimizing the game and/or using TeamSpeak.

@rogerx,
you can't see this message without Launcher :). Because if Launcher detects a game crash then Launcher displays that message, that is all the magic to it. No Launcher = no one to display the message.

On community wiki is a short list of common exit codes: https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Arma_3_Unusual_process_exit

Also TrackIR and Launcher should not interfere with each other in any way. I've found your ticket regarding the TrackIR issue and I'll look into it.

Referencing 10Cwaites's above comment; I can confirm omitting either configuration option, and the game will still crash. I've yet to see any crash using his above mentioned settings!

@rogerx,
so you experience a game crash even if Launcher shutdown itself before the game starts? Are startup parameters you have set in Launcher and those you're passing to directly to the executable same? Could you please upload your DxDiag report?

BIS Wizard: I merrily referenced a work around.

@rogerx

You have made the changes in the post I made earlier? I'm glad it worked. I know I sure was growing frustrated!!

I have yet to experience this crash as well since I made those changes.

10Cwaites: Yes I made those exact changes within the launcher.

One thing I did do within the past month, is installed MS Visual Studio Community. The MS Visual Studio Community required uninstalling the MS C++ x86 redistributable, else the install would error. Uninstalling the MS C++ x86 redistributable allowed working around the install issue, and MS C++ x86 redistributable was reinstalled by MS Visual Studio Community. So it maybe this bug might be caused by this if you can verify you to have been playing around with similar packages or performing similar actions.

I have repaired the MS C++ x86 redistributable package. (ie. similar to reinstall as the package was already installed);

MS C++ x86 redistributable
vcredist_x86.exe

But so close to 1.48 release, this bug maybe solved already.

(I wish the launcher would do something useful, like the ability to switch between locally installed Stable, Developer, and RC versions instead of having to download each version each time. Benchmarking and bug testing is hell on DSL or anything less than Cable Internet speeds!)

This is now happening on version 1.48 as well. Crashes to desktop as soon as I join a server and load into the world. Running Windows 10 Build 10240 and NVidia driver version 353.30.

Complete info and logs can be found here:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/91iktz9zoab9esg/a3_148_error.zip?dl=0

I am facing this problem too. Here I've attached my logs (2 sessions) along with my dxdiag file: https://db.tt/oVgVAmeJ

10Cwaites: I've unchecked those options after re-installing (ie. repairing) MS C++ x86 redistributable and haven't seen a crash for the past several hours. Although I've also upgraded from RC to 1.48.

What options are you performing and or unchecking in the launcher?

Schultz8100: Read Comment #0094730 by 10Cwaites on 2015-06-24 01:20

Just tried that, sorry for my stupidity :P ahh but my game is still crashing.

Read Comment #0095386 above.

Also read my notes concerning reinstalling/repairing MS C++ x86 redistributable, as I recently installed MS Visual Studio/Commmunity. Seems the MS Visual Studio/Community version of the MS C++ x86 redistributable may be flawed or incompatible.

Unfortunately i have already tried that it seems as the 1.46 update completely killed my game i have spent about 40 hours just trying to get this game to work tried everything even boot nuking my hdd and ssd and reinstalling the whole operating system. It sucks as this was my favorite game.

I have the same issue. I will try to explain:

  • When I enter into the MP option (Multiplayer) in any server (allow mods) in the loading screen show that message, don´t finish the loading.
  • In the server when I have some luck and it loads okay, I try to use the Arsenal / Virtual arsenal in order to load my gear then crash the game with the same message.

Please guys... fix this ASAP.

I also changed my video option into the lowest sepcs... and still have the same issue.
