Removed spam. AiA bugs are getting looked at, but they do have a lower priority, so no need to vote them down.
After all, and specifically in this case, a crash is a crash is an engine issue.
From developer Noctuabundus
"We are very sorry, we do not guarantee that user generated content such as mods, scripts, maps etc. will work all time during development of the game. It is up to users themselves to make sure their work is 100% compatible with current version of the game.
We thank you for reporting this issue, but try contacting author of this content to fix it. "
Thread with quote. http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=2680
Addons can cause a crash due to a myriad of problems, since killing people with weapons in standard A3 does not cause a crash regardless of weapon, it falls more on to the mod creator(s).
And AiA is still a mod.
Here is the thread to report the problem there http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?152706-All-in-Arma-%28AiA%29-TKOH-OA-A2-A1-merge-with-A3/page76
AiA is a mod which enables forward porting of legacy content developed by Bohemia Interactive (and of course also existing correctly built user made addons).
It's not like the content in AiA is custom made - it merely uses *official* content from legacy games such as A2/OA, so it is indeed something we all want fixed and not a simple "user error".
Had a similar issue with a custom weapon, turns out the geolod was missing a "component" in the named selections. After adding it, the game no longer crashes when being hit while carrying it. Hope this helps.
Sure still crashes in the release version

The answer is very simple. ;-))) BIS model of SVD (which actually hasn't changed since Armed Assault) doesn't have the geometry LOD that is needed for PhysX. You can easily make a replacement. Take an SVD model from Armed Assault sample models, create a Geometry LOD and make a replacement config.
Good luck!
Yes. I already have a workaround.
The point is the engine crashes. This should not happen. BI wants to fix this.
I hope this will be fixed. :) I made my mission to pick weapons randomly from configs (for AI units) to use weapons that player have from installed mods. If there is faulty SVDs or other weapons the mission will randomly crash for him.
It also happens with this mod for arma 2 connected to arma 3 with aia. http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=9316
