Repro steps by Psychobastard, copied from report #0004374:
- lower your primary weapon
- start to go (press "w")
- switch during your run/walk to optical sight (press RMB)
- switch back to normal sight (press again RMB)
- release all keys
The relation between the bug and actions told before are unclear except for the fact that is has to do something with changing into and out of combat stance.
Happened to me a couple of times in multiplayer.
From Psychobastard's report (#0004374): The problem only occurs if you had the primary weapon in your hands. All work fine with handgun or secondary weapon.

Any takers to do a search on how many times this same issue has been reported so far?
Again, please search the tracker before reporting. Read the "HOW TO GUIDE"!
Indeed. Happened to me three times in-a-row yesterday while playing the infantry showcase.
I've managed to reproduce it using the weapon lowered optics. Pressing step over is the only way to stop it I think. See mine here:
This seems to happen to me when I lower my weapon(2x ctrl for me). The only way I can stop it is by switching my gun to pistol however as soon as I switch it just switches back and I stop moving.
Almost always happend to me atleast once every battle. Really a problem when I become stuck running right into the enemy.
I've heard that it might be possible to stop the running by pressing the vault button but not 100% sure this works all the time
To stop it, just upholsterer your pistol. At the time I was trying to do the 'crab walk' from ARMA II. When you crouch, lower your gun and look down in third person and I stood back up and it started running, all I could do was control direction.
It's happened to me too, a loss of player control with continuous movement. One can recreate it by lowering a rifle (2x LCtrl) and then by attempting to view through its scope while running. Changing to a pistol stops it.
I can recreate this.
1.double tap control to lower your weapon.
- push right mouse button as if to zoom in on your gun.
- you will now be auto-walking.
the only way i've found to break it is by pushing "V", or vaulting.
