Massive "crash" and "script" log files are generated when playing the game, especially with mods, as the parent task describes. Such logging should be disabled by default for the client and a new startup parameter to optionally enable them must be added.

Oh, so it is mods that create those files from scratch? In that case, I would still argue that they should not have the ability to create separate log files with no control from the client side. Again, I will point to Arma as an example. This has never happened on Arma 2 and 3. This really ought to be more restricted or optional.

If you have "massive logs" it's probably because you have a bad or broken mod. (it still depends what you mean by massive)
