Workbench APPCRASH when clicking on certain files in the Resource Browser
Awaiting internal Testing, UrgentPublic

Description

I am trying to create a custom load screen for my DayZ server, and I am encountering a complete freeze and hang/crash of DayZ workbench when attempting the following:

  • When I click on background.edds or background.png it crashes.

If I am starting from fresh, and background.png has not been registered as a resource and imported - the app seems to work normally. As soon as I "Register resource and import" - it creates the *.edds and *.edds.meta but then immediately crashes.

I have tried the following:

  • Restarted PC
  • Disabled as much of my start up apps as I can, turned off as much as I can in the antivirus program I use
  • Tried in safe mode but the app doesn't load at all

Have you found a fix?

I haven't had it crash when working with edds files, but I've never successfully ever gotten it to work either.

for me, the first edds always shows in the preview, maybe the 2nd or 3rd.. but never after. no matter which file I click, it'll always be the prior image.

I've given up on attempting my own loading screens long ago and have a friend that is able to make them work.
To my knowledge, he said he just takes a tga file and renames it edds... I could be wrong as I've never got that to work either.

Hello Send6624.
Can you please send us the exact files causing the crash?

Geez
