Dear Developers,

I hope this message finds you in good spirits. Firstly, I want to thank you for your ongoing work on the helicopter flight model, and I'm eager to share a couple of observations for potential enhancements.

As mentioned previously, the helicopter's movement, particularly when transitioning rapidly from SHIFT to CONTROL, currently lacks realism and induces an unrealistic midair "wobble." Integrating this aspect would add authenticity to the simulation.

Furthermore, I've noticed that some players are effectively exploiting this "bug" or i would rather say "mechanics" to their advantage. Flying players can make the helicopter difficult to hit, especially given that ground players can only shoot it down with rifles. This sometimes makes shooting down helicopters nearly impossible, even at distances of up to 200 meters.

In addition to this, there seems to be an absence of ground effect in the current model. Ground effect, or the cushion of air created by the rotor downwash, plays a crucial role in real-life helicopter flight close to the ground. Including this element would not only enhance realism but also impact the tactical considerations for both flying and ground players

Balancing the gameplay in this regard would contribute to a more immersive and fair gaming experience. I trust that you'll take these considerations into account as you continue to refine the simulation.

Looks like since you have filed this bug, the recent ARMA Reforger has moved to the advanced flight model for PC platforms, while the Xbox platforms still use the easy flight model.

I was recently applaud by another player getting angry with my PC platform (advanced flight model) flying skills, demanding I land next to his antenna emplacement (for delivering supplies) as all other players can easily land and fly next to obstacles. I quickly figured-out, Xbox players are using the easy flight model, as well as likely other easier (Quake like) game functions.

As with ARMA intent for creating a mil-sim (military simulation), I prefer the helicopter advanced flight dynamic model. The advance flight model also presents much easier and much larger gauges when using 3D view mode, making reading gauges similar to real life, or just easier. Whereas the first person view, attempting to read millimeter diameter gauges is extremely difficult without using a magnifying glass. 3D view also provides some additional lost situational awareness the first person rendered view significantly lacks.

I think the ARMA developers need to properly weigh Xbox programmed game functions in comparison to PC programmed game functions. Ensuring players are equal, rather than Xbox being easier to play, or making game movements similar to a Quake game, while PC players enjoy struggling with realist movements.
