When I cooked in cherno on an experimental server I noticed that meat is baked instantly if you move it from the smoking slot in the oven to the cooking slot.
I used chicken and the smallest built-in stove.

- search for a small built in oven and make a fire in it.
- add chicken meat to the smoking slot.
- drag it over to the cooking slot.
- it will be baked instantly, no matter how long you left it in the smoking slot before.

More problematic than that though is that smoked meats impart salmonellae poisoning albeit sort of randomly in terms of severity :/

We have been testing the issue but we were unable to produce it according to the repro steps provided. Is there possibly something else that needs to be done to produce this?

Apparently this may have been fixed in a 1.10 patch you guys released on 10/28. See patch notes:

Under fixed it say:
"Dryed raw meat would still trigger diseases"
