I've got the problem with footsteps sound in Dayz. I can't hear my own footsteps but i hear everything else including wind animals and other players footsteps. I tried to reinstall the game, on diffrent disc or changing sound options and I have no idea what to do next. I will be happy if someone help me.

if you see this all is ok ...
but ..? you have onboard soundcard?
in the game calls squad ... i had sound problems to ..
i mean this are software problems ...
can you say witch soundcard name you have?
i hope its not an old pc with old sound card ..
or you have make own config? than erase the config and than make this:
make with steam ... controll all dayz data files ..
than if they found a fault ... he fix it automaticly ..
or its a dayz bug we dont know ..

i only have sound bugs into squad ... the game .. but are fixed ..
you play on mod server or official dayz server?
also you can erase complete dayz folder in dokuments folder .
than with steam .. check and veryfiy game data ,.,.
after this steam make new dayz folder ... and than all are back ...
but if this not work ... i think .. its your on board sound card ..
and .. but .. i am not from dev team ... i cant programming ..
i only hunt bugs or cheater with video proof .. but i have 7400 hours dayz play time and i know a lot of bugs ..
first check folder ...

this means ... 96 sounds at one time i mean .. but i dont know it 100%

and if you dont know how to change game config with windows folder ... this are not the fault .. but you can read into the folder and see what they write ..

dayz config folder comes back after you go on server ... and close dayz ..
but i write my own config ..^^
I had a similar problem. The problem appeared after updating Windows. I didn't hear all the sounds in the game. My audio device is USB headphones with 7.1 sound emulation. In Windows system settings, I found that my audio device was reset to play 2.0 audio. I returned the setting to 7.1, all sounds came back, but there is no sound of the car motor. Only after updating the driver for the headphones - I got the playback of all sounds in the game. Try updating the audio driver and audio settings on the system.
