DayZ Launcher - Launcher failed to load: We were unable to initialize launcher. Launcher will now close. Reason: [-103] Unknown.
Assigned, NormalPublic

Description

Recently purchased DayZ to play with some friends who also recently purchased it, only to receive this error upon trying to load the launcher up through Steam. I can still load the game with the client option, but am unable to open the launcher for installing mods, setting parameters or browsing servers. This is a completely fresh, first time install.

I've researched as much as I can to rectify the issue - including reinstalling C++ Distribution Packages, .NET Framework updates, Windows updates, running the program as administrator, as well as reinstalling the game completely from Steam. The issue persists and I cannot find a single applicable solution. I'm a hair's breadth away from seeking a refund and urging my friends to do the same.

If anyone could please help with this, I'd be extremely thankful.

Use windows 10 🤣

Windows 7 is still well within DayZ's minimum system requirements. If that's no longer the case, then that should be updated, and I'll just have to get a refund.

Hello,

Could you, please, check that the folder E:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\DayZ\Launcher\en-US\ contains the files DayZLauncher.resources.dll and SharedResources.resources.dll? also, what language is used on your OS and Steam?

I can confirm DayZLauncher.resources.dll and SharedResources.resources.dll are in the respective folder. Steam and my OS are both using English (United States).

I don't mean to be impatient but it's been over a week at this point without any developments. Is anyone still looking at this or has it just been dropped.

Without an answer soon I'll just have to refund the game since it's completely non-functional on my system.

As it seems the developers have no intentions of providing any support here, I will be refunding the game.
