Crash on Linux Mint 18.2 (Sonya) after displaying brand labels
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Crash on Linux Mint after displaying brand labels.
Both screens go black, then the left screen displays all in funky, similar to inverted colors.
Seems like a graphics related issue.

(My Windows OS is not recoverable and did not run stable. So I did switch to Unix-like system.
Kindly let me know if you need any additional data and I am looking forward to any solution approaches.)

Run ArmA3 Apex by launching it from Steam (Actual "launcher" does not show up like it does on Microsoft's Windows7).
Wait till the game crashes after displaying brand labels and you got the desktop displayed again.

After first two crashes I did update grafics driver. Still same result.

Hello.

Thank you for the report. In the dumps were there just the rpt files? No MDMP or BIDMP files?

I did just upload the files stored under Linux here: /home/<name>/.local/share/bohemiainteractive/arma3/AppDataLocal/Arma 3
Either Steam or ArmA3 did create crash reports for each crash. I got the option to save them (.txt).

Talked to our programmers. They told me that from what we know Winetricks is not supported so it is likely caused by this. I am sorry, but there is nothing we can do. We do have a Linux version of the game for people with Linux.

Also from your txt your graphics drivers can't cope with Arma 3. You might want to use official Radeon Drivers, it could help.

Thank you very much for the info and support.
I am going to order a new grafics card since there is no driver support given for this one on Linux Mint.
Btw. I am not shure if I did use Winetricks for in order to run steam. I think I am using it for another program.
I'll post in this report once it solves the issue.
