Description

ghost hawk right gun shoots into about 5 different directions when gunning. pilot controls of ghosthawk even when 100% health spins out of control. ghost hawk taken down with minimal gun fire from 6.5 caliber gun ground troops. advanced flight model creates heavy lag when gunning both sides. basic flight model is steady and no lag. happens in king of the hill servers.

The gun bug (most server of the problems) is easily replicated in editor, video for reference: Ghosthawk Gun Comparison (left vs right)

The heli can be turned off and landed and the problem is still painfully obvious.

Secondary Advanced Light model creates almost like shaking for the gunner that varies on if the gunner gets out and gets back in , compared to normal flight mode where the gun is completely smooth as it should be
(this has been an issue for a while)

And expanding on the 100% health it still spins out of control, I believe this is just a bug for King of the Hill but I could be wrong. I have definitely noticed this problem after having the tail shot out, and repairing a ghost-hawk fully.at the repair zone.
It is fairly common but not 100% reproducible.

Just a little note when you create tickets and have more than one issue to report either create separate tickets for each individual issue or at least separate them so that it is obvious when a description of another issue begins.

  1. ghost hawk right gun - we will have a look at it.
  1. ghosthawk spins out of control - I was unable to reproduce the issue in the editor even after repairing the helicopter controls were functioning as they should
  1. For a 6.5mm to damage Ghosthawk you would have to fire upon the rotors or kill the pilot. Tested it out and a normal 6.5 mm even light machinegun has a hard time. It would have to be a bit more powerful to do anything. Then again if the LZ is hot it would be better to move out of range of fire.

Okay. Hopefully it gets fixed as the issue is quite bothersome. Also it was my first time posting on here so I didn't know about separating the issues. I will make another post that deals with the heavy lag/frame skips in gunning/aiming/shooting while your ghosthawk pilot is in advanced flight model but smooth in basic flight model.

Same problem here, right gun is worthless now.

I got a kill! 1489 bullets out of the right gun and the infantry unit died =( lol please fix.

Hey Wulf,

There has been a hotfix for the latest update but the right gun is still out of commission. Any idea of what's happening there? is arma just going to leave it broken? I know there are other issues that have been resolved but this is disappointing that so many players who use ghosthawks have been ignored. From the servers I visit there has been a decrease in ghosthawk usage and overall, people, including myself, have played less arma waiting for it to get fixed.

Hi haris.

This was mainly a hotfix for the engine and servers. The issue is already fixed and you can test it out on our development build, so you can expect the fix in the next proper update of the game.

Is the release of the upcoming DLC on Nov 30 considered a "proper update"? Will this be fixed then?

Yes, it should be. With the release of Tac-Ops there will be an update of the game itself which should include the fix for this as well.
