Server Browser Still Lagging [Urgent]
Need More Info, NormalPublic

Description

Since .61 has been released on experimental, the server browser is still lagging for me. One of my friends at first had no issue, but then he had the same problem as me. It doesn't seem to affect a lot of people. It's been pissing me off, and I don't understand why it's happening. I was hoping this was an issue that would of been posted on the feedback tracker, but I guess not...

I've also lowered my setting to really low, my fps was even better but the lag still remained on the server browser..

Event Timeline

Yup its still a little laggy at the server browser.

hmm, laggy or still loading the 1000000 servers?

try setting it to the game versions you want. It will load a massive amount of data, which freezes the browser. Watch the loading of those servers to your right.

https://feedback.bistudio.com/T122007 is it like this ?, my server browser dips to 1 fps and gpu usage turns really low

Even with it set to match server version and ping filter the fps still dips a bit until it stops searching.

Hello rustycaddy and thank you for the report.
Can you try the following?

  1. Go to the steam directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam
  2. Go to the userdata folder
  3. There are folders (or one folder) with numbers in their name
  4. These folders should contain folder named "7"
  5. Open the 7 folder and in it find a folder called "remote"
  6. Open the remote folder and delete serverbrowser_hist.vdf
  7. Do this for all the "7" folders (only applies if you have more than one number folder

Please let us know if this had any effect on the issue.
Regards,
Geez
