STILL getting "You were kicked off the game", "Connection with host has been lost" etc
Need More Info, NormalPublic

Description

Hello,
(I'll merge my old ticket into this one)

Firstly, I appreciate the help and responses I've been getting so far (to my old ticket, to my emails).

Unfortunately after several weeks I am still unable to connect to any vanilla multiplayer servers- this includes official Bohemia Interactive missions, King of the Hill servers, and Wasteland servers. I am usually given the message "You were kicked off the game" and my game either crashes or I am sent back to the server list.

Sometimes, my game also crashes on the loading screen to join multiplayer servers, and I get "Arma 3 has exited in an unusual manner: 0x00000001 – UNABLE_TO_INIT_DXGI" or "Arma 3 has exited in an unusual manner:0xCFFFFFFF - APPLICATION_HUNG"

I am not banned from any servers as far as I am aware, and I have never used cheats on any servers. Is this a problem with Battleye? If so, how do I update and re-install Battleye?

IMPORTANT: My most recent .rpt crash file can be found here, which is generated whenever my game crashes or whenever I get "You were kicked off the game": http://pastebin.com/FsTJj96D

IMPORTANT: Here is my .zip file troubleshooting report for ArmA 3, which was generated in the Arma 3 launcher. It can be downloaded using this link to Microsoft OneDrive, and it is also attached in the ticket itself: https://1drv.ms/u/s!Akg1MfsD8Ko-gi7pdPmIwIwZ1l6s{F38737}

Please look into both of these because I believe that the cause of my problems can be found here.

I have tried:

-Two clean re-installs (deleting all ArmA 3 related documents and folders), and several normal re-installs(email told me to do this)
-Deleting the BattleEye folder in Documents/Arma 3 and verifying integrity of game cache
-Disabling AVG Antivirus and launching ArmA 3
-Deleting "addons" folder and verifying integrity of game cache
-Disabling Antivirus, running Steam as administrator, and verifying integrity of game cache (support email told me to do this
-Hosting my own server with a Bohemia Interactive mission (This worked and I did not experience problems. The support email told me to do this. However, I am still unable to play on most multiplayer servers including official ones)
-Disabled and unsubscribed to all mods (I play on vanilla servers only, I unsubscribed to the Battle Royale mod a few months ago)
-Made a new player profile
-Deleted MPMissionsCache in my Documents/Arma 3 folder

I hope this problem can be resolved soon and I appreciate any replies. I urge you to take a look at the .rpt crash file and the Arma 3 Troubleshooting Report because these may explain why I am unable to connect to any multiplayer servers.

If you need more information, I will be happy to reply with it.

-This problem has persisted for at least 3 weeks. It has rendered A3 Multiplayer unplayable.

-This also occurs on Tanoa servers (I purchased Apex)

-I get a yellow circle with a question mark on ALL ArmA 3 servers.

-My ping is generally good, ranging from 20ms to 100ms, but can occaisonally increase to over 100ms ping.

Hi,
could you please try with minimum of parameters? Especially without -cpuCount=4 -maxVRAM=4096 -skipintro -malloc=system -maxMem=4096
I can't download Your .zip file troubleshooting report. I have error message after opening the page. Could you please check if dumps are still there? Thank you very much.

Hi,

Disabling the parameters in the A3 Launcher unfortunately did not work.

I have attached a new troubleshooting report. If it does not work, try downloading it from MS OneDrive here: https://1drv.ms/u/s!Akg1MfsD8Ko-gi7pdPmIwIwZ1l6s
Thanks for your reply.

I think this could be a bug because many people are experiencing this, they have said on the steam community forums that they are getting the same problem as me. My friend also experienced this problem today.

Did the zip file work?

MaxK added a comment.Aug 6 2016, 12:07 PM

I've just tried launching through arma3battleye.exe. It didn't work. Also tried turning off launch parameters.

I hope this can be resolved, I haven't been able to play multiplayer for weeks since the Apex update because of this. It's becoming really frustrating :/ idk if I should have bought Apex DLC because I can't even get into Tanoa servers. There are people on the community forums who are also getting this :/

I think your problem is the same as mine. I get the exact same problem as you've described, where I can play for a minute or so before I get kicked from servers.

More attempted fixes: Deleted all .bisign files from addons folder and verified integrity of game cache

The attached RPTs show unofficial modes (KOTH e.g.) and 1 without any MP connection. Can you please share a RPT log where you connect to an official server (https://arma3.com/servers), running official modes, without mods loaded, and presenting this issue? While playing unofficial mod(e)s should work, having a repro in this vanilla way can help to isolate the issue.

Also consider listing your firewall software, anti-virus software and network card type. You've tried opening the Steam ports (https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=8571-GLVN-8711)?

Maxk No its isnt my game dont crash i get no error nothing and oyur game crashes and has many errors again my game dont crash and has no errors

After the failure to connect to a server or kick has happened (not a crash), have you tried restarting Steam client and re-logging in?

Really ?? i tried everything reinstall complete arma 3 delete everything this error is since 5 days

Hello, sorry for the late reply. I tried to join an official Zeus co-op server and here is the .rpt file, I got the same issue (I copy pasted the rpt file into pastebin, I hope that's okay)

My anti-virus is AVG Free, 2015. My firewall is simply Windows Firewall, I have not installed any third-party firewall software. My network adapter is a USB adapter, the brand is Realtek and the model is RTL8188EU Wireless LAN 802.11n USB 2.0

Again, I apologise for the late reply (I've been testing out different servers and I had to go AFK for a little while). I'll post an update when I've tried your solutions

Unfortunately I don't immediately see something pointing to a cause here. Is it correct you first connected to a session on Stratis, in which someone spawned a Tanoa asset that triggered an error? And then you were in a second session on Altis for some time, but it kicked you? The end of the RPT is rather abrupt and looks incomplete somehow.

You might also still try some of the solutions listed on https://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Arma_3_Unusual_process_exit, to rule out issues in shared libraries or Windows.

Yeah, that is correct I believe. I can try to repost another .rpt file. Alternatively, I could make another troubleshooting report .zip file in the A3 launcher if that is better.

Also, I was able to successfully join two wasteland servers and then I was kicked after joining a third server.

And did you then restart Steam client, log out / in of Steam, and try to join the same server? (trying to pinpoint the issue)

Hi, I'm currently having some issues with ping/internet at the moment that I am looking to resolve with my ISP, so I am unable to join any servers right now. I am going to improve my wireless connection by purchasing a wireless connection booster from my ISP, a better adaptor and/or fiber optic internet. I am experiencing internet problems across all games, including DayZ. My friend also told me that he saw "signature check timed out" when he was on the server, so it is possible that my internet connection is causing these problems.

I should be able to resolve the ping problems soon, I think they are being caused because I am re-installing the Apex DLC. I tried to uninstall Apex a few hours ago, as another fix attempt.
I should be able to reply within an hour, because I think my ping problem should be fixed by then (Apex is done installing soon). I will tell you if your fix, to restart steam and re-log out of steam, worked for me.

I hope it would be okay if I could get back to you within a couple of days to tell you whether upgrading my internet connection worked, provided a solution is not found by then.

Okay, so I did what you said and the problem still persists. I still get kicked off the game unfortunately, even after trying this

I have some more information. I got "Session lost" on the last two Wasteland servers I joined. Furthermore, I got an error message that looked like this: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=741055408 I got a screenshot of it.

I also got "You were kicked off the game" on an official Tanoa mission, so I've made another .rpt file. Hopefully, that is more helpful this time. It looks more complete, but I'm not really sure. Could you please see this: http://pastebin.com/z5C93hbM

Thank you.

Okay, so I did what you said and the problem still persists.

OK, so at least we've ruled that one out.

Furthermore, I got an error message that looked like this

This shows an error in the unofficial content, so that would need to be fixed by its authors.

http://pastebin.com/z5C93hbM

Nothing that clearly points to the problem (the warnings that are there are not known to interfere with networking). It does show a bunch of errors in unofficial modes in the sessions before the official one, and even a mod loading, even though you don't appear to have it active (Advanced Urban Rappelling), so maybe that's server-side.

Have you tried the special profiling EXE?

Also, do you think it could be hardware problem? I'm upgrading to 8GB RAM and I am getting an SSD soon, I am also going to use an ethernet cable to improve internet connection, perhaps this will help?

Have you tried the special profiling EXE?

Just tried this, no luck :( Is this a bug? There seems to be a few other people on the Steam forums that have been getting the same issue as me, and this has been happening only since Apex update. I hope this can be resolved soon, I miss playing KOTH/Wasteland with my friends :(

It does show a bunch of errors in unofficial modes in the sessions before the official one

Do the errors show anything? Meaning, do they explain what is causing this?

DnA added a comment.Aug 15 2016, 10:06 AM

Is this a bug?

It can be, but at the moment we still don't have information that confirms either way. Those errors in the user-created modes do not help, but probably don't cause this issue. It can be something in the game, on your machine or in the connection to servers ... but it's not deducible from the current information. It's also important to separate the issues. Your crashes are possibly not connected to the disconnects (they implied GPU / driver issues).

What about the profiling EXE does not work?

I installed the profiling branch, launched the game through profiling bramch and still got "You were kicked off the game" disconnects when I tried to join servers

No need! It's simply one of those issues that's very hard to diagnose as it may be caused by many things.

Profiling branch should provide from logs inside the RPT or even separate files. Did it?

Okay, so I tried launching the game directly through ArmA3profiling.exe (yesterday, I merely installed the profiling branch and launched the game through the Arma3 launcher).

When I joined a server through arma3profiling.exe, I was asked to restart the game to enable Battleeye. The game then restarted, and the problem still persisted.

Here is an .rpt file generated from profiling branch, not sure if it helps: http://pastebin.com/1wwbCQbM

MaxK added a comment.Aug 20 2016, 10:52 PM

Did you receive the .rpt report? Did it help, did it show anything?

It's ridiculous that I have been locked out of playing ArmA 3 multiplayer for a month now. Does it help you to diagnose the problem if I remind that there are some other people on the steam forums and A3 forums who have been getting the exact same problem that I have? Perhaps this points to the possibility that this is a bug that needs to be fixed?

I've never had this problem in the 8 or so months that I've been playing ArmA 3 (one of those months has been spent trying to join multiplayer servers and being kicked from them). I'm wondering if we are getting any closer to a diagnosis as to what is causing me to get kicked from MP servers.

Thanks.

Hello,

so the RC branch should be now available and with it there were some fixes made as well as some tweaks that should help us determine what might be the issue should you still experience it.

Now, if you willing, please try to switch to the RC branch.
Once you do this try to connect to one of our official servers. If it fails please try to provide us with following info:

  • RPTs from your the session where you attempted to join the official RC server
  • Which server you tried to connect to and when (time + timezone info)

Sorry it is taking so long :(

EDIT:
In case you or someone else should need some help with switching to the RC branch, here's how to do that
