Steps To Reproduce

t_pinuss2s_f.p3d

  1. Open 3D mission editor on Stratis.
  2. Place any unit as player. Preview mission.
  3. Press Escape, in debug console execute:

["Paste",["Stratis",[6479.55,5198.02,9.95688],137.45,0.5,[-0.734752,0],0,0,720.574,0.3,1,1,0,1]] call bis_fnc_camera;

  1. Splendid camera opens with two t_pinuss2s_f.p3d on screen. The trees have different orientations so the bug affects them when viewed from different angles.
  2. Press S to move camera backward from the trees. At some point the lower down the hill (right of screen) will switch to the bad LOD. The uphill tree (left of screen) shows the LOD is not affected from this angle.
  1. Repeat the process from the opposite side to see the uphill tree go bad. Press Escape, in debug console execute:

["Paste",["Stratis",[6520.35,5152.2,10.7395],318.549,0.5,[-4.65311,0],0,0,720.574,0.3,1,1,0,1]] call bis_fnc_camera;

Hello ceeeb,

thank you for the feedback.

So, running any mods? Did you try to verify integrity of your data? Are your graphic drivers up to date? What Video Settings are you using?
I tried to reproduce this issue with no luck unfortunately :(

Should you come across something that might help me to reproduce it, please make sure to post it here.

Thanks

Hi razazel.
I use 3 different PCs, and this issue is apparent on them all. All have Intel CPU and Nvidia GPU. No mods used and files verify on all machines.
Graphics drivers vary but my main desktop uses the latest 365.19.
Video settings vary between the computers, but they only dictate how far away this tree is from the player when the bad LOD is displayed.
I will add some repro steps.

Hey guys,

I can confirm that issue too.

For me I've noticed it after the visual upgrade got introduced on the development branch.

Many trees (I think bushes too) are not visible, transparent or partly visible under certain angles and distances.

I will try to provide some reproduction steps the next days if not somebody else will do.

Best regards

This issue has been around for much longer, here's my original report from Oct. 2014 T79418.
