The game is fantastic, but in terms of realism, DayZ's basis for starvation/thirst is not sound. Anecdotally, it can take up to 7 days for a person to die of thirst (less if they're running around a lot), and 4 weeks to die of starvation (again, less if the person is very active). Still, I have been playing for ~1 hour and my character is dying of starvation. Not cool.

I believe a further issue is related: has anyone experienced the "Error putting item in your hand" message? I've only had it happen since the latest update, and occurs after the "You are already using something" message.
