I have had this exact same problem. Its really annoying and makes the game hard to play. I havnt found a solution either.

I actually sat at a water spout in electro and just spammed drink water, about 25 or so times and finally for the first time got my "thirsty" message in the UI to go away. Im sure it will be back soon though.
