Nvidia GTX550 running driver version 310.19, AMD Phenom 9550 quad core, 4 GB RAM, Windows 7 64 bit. View distance set at 3200m, most settings on High.
I have seen a lightning flash exactly once at the start of a MP mission someone else set up. No sound. Nothing before or since. All my tests in the editor (100% lightning, 98%, 95%) show no lightning at all.
Confirmed.
Personally, I hate having to depend on SIX. It's always been far clumsier and slower to use than any in-game browser with some sort of 'favorites.' I've been using favorites in-game since QuakeWorld first came out in what? 1998? I never understood why such a basic feature has been neglected by BI.
The main issue seems to be that there is a ring that centers on any ladder where you can actually get the 'climb' indicator. If you are inside or outside the ring, you never get the indicator.
The trouble seems to be that the inner diameter of the ring is too far out. In this particular case, I think the entire ring is basically covered by the ruins of the building it's in.
Oh, God, YES PLEASE! Single most frustrating thing for me about the ArmA series is the inability to manage favorites.
