@zeep Yes, sound engine is the problem for that. A3 uses the worst one. It's unexplainable why the devs put so much work into graphics but aren't willing to take it 1 step further with audio. Pathetic.

@Fireball Nope. Suppressor just makes it quieter, you won't hear it from 500m away but if you do hear it, you'll know where it's coming from, just like any other sound...

Mods, how can I edit the description? I'd like it to say:

Gun sounds, vehicle sounds, explosions etc. sound very unconvincing. Further more, you can't hear footsteps unless a person is right next to you, when you lean your own footsteps sound 3m away, there are no environmental effects (occlusion etc.), it it impossible to judge distance or direction of any given sound... In general- anything to do with sound is terrible.

Agreed 100%. Why use XAudio2+ X3DAudio when it's a PC only game?
