You sure you weren't just on a server that was under heavy load at the time? There are two rubber banding issues. The one which was recently "fixed" was the issue with how the client and server track where you are, so in those cases, you would rubber band because they calculated something different and the server "won", thereby instantly putting you back where it thinks you should be. The other happens when server FPS is low and that issue will only be addressed as server performance is addressed.
