Do you have your physics cranked up? I broke off random stuff on landing or when driving over rocks until I turned the physics simulation to max. Now its really hard to wreck my rover.

Did you extend the arm with the soil sampler on it into the ground first?

I found if I built a rover and put it on the back the solar arrays would stop me from getting close enough to the flat rock.
