I also have this exact issue. I've tried connecting to public hive servers and privates with no luck. I've also tried other "fixes" i found via Google like instantly logging out and back in again. I spent all day yesterday gearing up and now today i'm reset. My char in the menu shows the gear though, and i've even restarted steam several times, and my PC, and still get the same results.
