I fixed it by deleting the GameOverlayRenderer64.dll in the Steam folder, then creating an empty file with same name and making it read-only. That fixed this crash for me. This ticket is resolved.

This is a vanilla server that does not allow mods, but does use a lot of scripting.

I seem to have addressed this problem. I am using these settings in the Arma 3 launcher.

These settings were recommended to me and I have not had any further problems. The malloc=system setting was the key to addressing this issue as someone else was also having this issue and they were recommended this as a good fix.
