Idea to vary the sound of explosions so that they will never sound exactly the same twice...
New, WishlistPublic

Description

Here's an idea to make the explosions sound less repetitive and slightly different every time.

Use 3 similar sounding but different explosion samples mixed together for one explosion event in the game...
So the main sample is played at 100% volume every time (like it is now) then randomise the volume of the other two samples between 0% and 100%

Example one:
Explosion 01 100%
Explosion 02 73%
Explosion 03 26%

Example two:
Explosion 01 100%
Explosion 02 16%
Explosion 03 43%

This way no two explosions will ever sound identical :-)

Very nice ide, it will give much more immersion than now.

What about the Explosion 01 vary on kind and size of the explosion and getting effected by the new sound engine?

@TheMasterOffBlubb

Yes exactly that :-)
Explosion 01 will determine the type of explosion depending on what has been blown up and or what type of explosive.
Then 02 & 03 will be closely related, but not the same otherwise we will get phase related problems like now when two or more explosions occur at almost the same time.

Dyna Sound mod have the best samples of explosions i ever heard. BIS devs, if you contact them, i'm sure you will not regret this.

@TutSi

I have Been testing DynaSound mod and it is bloody awesome!
The distance effect on the small arms fire sounds spot on too.
