Assigned, WishlistPublic

Description

This ticket was created to put together crash reports of dedicated server crashes. It is necessary to attach crashdumps along with your reports. Crashdump consists of rpt + bidmp + mdmp file with same name and can be usually found in this or similar location:
C:\Users\<Name>\AppData\Local\Arma 3\

When package is smaller than 5000k, you can attach it here. When package is bigger, please use some free sharing service and post link in the note bellow the ticket.

Also, if you have server diagnostics log available, add it to the archive with the crashdumps.

Random server crash (console just close - clients gets "no message received") - crashfiles: gbase.cz/wufr.zip

problem file: \windows\sysWOW64\ntdll.dll

PS: tried disable all addons, still crashing - even without player connected

OS info: Win Home Server 2011 (same as 2008 R2 without some features) - Will try Windows 8.1 today

Crash right at server start. Happens very often for me, with DEV version as well, have several of these crash dumps, attached most recent one, stable version: arma3server_2014-10-02_22-53-06.rar

While was writing comment, test server crashed again. Attached another report.

its very strange crash, when i was in work YESTERDAY, i started it up via remote desktop, no problem, but after i came home, started it up, it crashed in about 2 minutes.. :O

EDIT: I bought new router Mikrotik RB2011(so not some cheap crap) and dedi didnt crashed once, will test it more for longer time

JonBonsTAW_server_130stable_goldbroom_crash.tar.7z

Crashed ~40-50 min into one of weekly sessions.
Ran mission again and it crashed around the same time.

... my server is now online for about 8 hours, no crashes, nothing wrong... and i only bought new router, becouse old one was dropping connections when too overloaded with traffic... but i dont think that is reason for crashes i had before :O

Contains 3 crashes from last night.

We played multiple missions yesterday but each time we started a new one after one succesfull match, we had a Crash. We had around 40 players on our server.

It might be the mods we use , but since we cant read the dump files, we cant know. Hope someone can shed some light on this issue.

Also I hope its ok that I just linked the file here. Iceman mentioned some diagnostic system. How is that used?

Further testing of the crashes mentioned above.

Addons were minimized and we reached the conclusion that it was caused by RHS and AIA TP combined effect.

Also we confirmed that the server never crashed on the first mission that was ran on it. It was always the second one.

An interesting feature of the log that is he has 15 minutes long WORKED nothing in the rpt file which is very unusual because it is always something that he Logs.

Crash by Shutdown (kill the server.exe)

I've added a crash dump from the latest release (v1.38)

'1-38-servercrash.rar'

I see this issue periodically on my live server (which indicates it only becomes and issue when it's under load). Our test server can run for days without the issue (for the most part).

Another couple notes that I neglected to mention.

Every time it crashes, it seems to be somewhere in the malloc code that is causing an issue (based on looking at the dumps in WinDBG). This has led me to try all the different mallocs that are available and every single one has the same behavior after a random amount of time.

Additionally, I have User-Mode dumps on for the arma server process, so if a full memory dump would be helpful, just let me know, as I have the last 4 or 5 saved to my disk and I could get one or all of them to you.

Thanks!
