Placing an autonomous static weapon breaks the ability to group individual units in the editor
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Observed:
In the mission editor, individual placed units will automatically group if placed close to each other, and any individual unit can be grouped to another by selecting group mode and dragging a link between them.
When the user places an autonomous static weapon, this functionality gets broken until the user exits, then re-enters the mission editor. (the user can still modify group links of any unit that has a group link, but can not modify group links of any newly placed units).

Expected:
Placing any unit type should not break the editor. Even if autonomous static weapons are unable to be grouped, this should not affect grouping other units.

Steps To Reproduce
  1. Open mission editor.
  2. Place the player as any type of BLUFOR soldier.
  3. Place another BLUFOR soldier nearby (unit 2). Note this unit is automatically grouped with the player.
  4. Place a static autonomous weapon (eg. Mk30A HMG .50)
  5. Try placing another BLUFOR soldier near the player unit (unit 3). Note this unit does not link to the group.
  6. Switch to group mode.
  7. Try to link unit 3 with the player.
  8. Try breaking and re-grouping the player with unit 2.
  9. Place a group. Note the group of these units can modified.
  10. Start a new mission or load any other mission. Group links for individual units will remain broken.
  11. Exit mission editor (return to main menu)
  12. Re-open mission editor. Place new individual units and group them. Note restarting editor fixes the problem.
