Under the Dev build, the doors and FLIR camera and the cockpit screen are no longer visible on the MH-9 and the AH-9 when adding them via "animate" command.
Also, addCivilian_hide has no visible effect, but maybe I just don't know what it does.

In editor, place an MH-9 or AH-9.
In the init field, type:
this animate ["AddDoors",1]; this animate ["AddFLIR",1]; this animate ["AddScreen1",1];
Start mission. In the non-Dev build, the doors, screen and FLIR appear. In the Dev build, they do not appear.

Any chance they will be added back in? I was planning on making a civilian helicopter addon with doors and FLIR, etc.
There were the some problem, so I have to removed that selections.
I change this issue as feature request, becose this type of helicopter wasn't planned. If anything change in plans, maybe it appears.
Please, add this options again. Its weird that in 2035 the helicopters arent better equiped with upgraded equipment.
You are right Dr Death, but they have the possibility to add those items by scripting commands.
i wish they could just let us modify it, same way we could use to modify color and different variants on vehicles and maybe on units with an gear menu on the editor.
Also, i have been waiting for the actually promised and confirmed 3D editor, as the 2D editor has been giving me problems when using waypoints.
Thats one thing I been following since I see the equipment tab and maybe what you just wrote. I have fate but this will take time or at least thats what I think.
Developers are not lazy like people say, the game itself is so complex and every single thing looks hard to properly implement.
i disagree, i do believe BIS is getting lazi, i remember a part of confirmed features pre-alpha in the forums, incluiding TOH flightmodels, 3D editors, being able to pick whatever seat you want, being able to shot from passanger seat, and other bunch of stuffs more.
The reason why people thought the alpha was great was because it was not really an alpha, it was an early beta, and their opinions changed when they saw that almost nothing new was added, just 3D scopes, new rain effects, Altis, etc.
People expect big features to be incluided from Alpha to Beta, this did not happened, many confirmed features are not there, and people like me are angry because of that.
The MH/AH 9 helicopters with FLIR would be useful for scouting, & the MH9 with doors could be for the civilians / police.
AD, i am not saying that they are nothing, but they are just not enough, and remember than these features, addons, and the campaign, weapons, ALL OF THEM should have been on relase, and they are being added as if the game is not fully done yet.
And Altis was using recycled buildings from ArmA 2 OA, had a lot of performance issues, and its even the half of the size of what the real counterpart is. The rain effects look great but they have no effect on the terrain, sound, or how a wet metal would look, so they are just cosmetic, and also the new rain effect is really bugged in some parts.
The doors and FLIR camera were neat options to be able to have on the MH-9. It seems odd to remove them unless they were causing something else to break.
Indeed it seems odd to have removed them, they added further flexibility to the aircraft for mission makers to decide which is really what counts here. I hope they are added back in future.
Can we also remove the backseats of the MH-9? it seems stupid to have an aircraft with a seating of 6 instead of 4 when a squad is 8 people
You can use the animation AddBackseats to remove the rear seats, then lock those spots so units don't sit in them.
There is a way to remove the back seats though. Just put 'this animate ["AddBackseats",0]' in the init field of the helicopter.
BI, this is the easiest content to add. You don't even have to make new models, and it will make people just as happy as a new helicopter.
Tried it today again and it's still not possible :( Can't create the choppers I need because of the issue.
Really would like to see this back in, AAF have a flir capability from the Wildcat and the MH9 is the perfect recon helicopter! Can't be that hard surely?
Just getting my voice out there too. Would really like to see this functionality put back into the game. Seeing how this was already in the game at one point is incredibly frustrating. Not pointing fingers here but if I see that the doors are brought back in for the heli DLC I would be extremely disappointed in you guys.
Well, seeing as these doors were an accidental pass over from Take On Helicopters, and they never meant to have them in the first place, it makes sense to take them out on BIS's part. Not only that, but, i can even see parts of Seattle in the reflection. HOWEVER, i think it's fair, that they fix the reflection on the doors, and release the door models for the Civilian faction since they screwed up and now allot of people are disappointed. It would surely make allot of people happy, and save the stress that would occur, if they were to say... re appear in the Helicopters DLC which was stated to only provide 2 more helicopters and some new engine features. Would be mis-leading if some doors and FLIR pods were to magically show up as paid content as well.
Would real like to see helicopter enabled FLIR back in. What scout helicopter doesn't or wouldn't have it!? Would add new level of depth in game.
It seems like NATO cannot afford any plastic doors. Not to mention one FLIR. Those things might cost over 10k, which is too expensive for an entire army.
*oh god the irony*
Oh, and the weird thing is, AAF can afford one, but the NATO can't. Explain that to me.
