Firing the Tigris main cannon causes massive FPS drop, distorted sound and causes game to freeze.

Description

When firing the Autocannon on the CSAT Tigris at buildings or vehicles, there is a huge fps drop, the sound becomes very distorted and and continual firing causes the game to lock up for extended periods of time, it will recover after about 30sec-1min.

Excuse the poor quality i had to use my phone, so you cant hear the distorted sound, but you can see it just keeps freezing.

What are your specs and settings?

My specs are:
Q6600@3.5ghz
ATI 5770 factory OC'd
6gb ram
asus p5k wifi mobo.
Win7 64bit.
X-fi soundcard

Game settings are set to standard, 1920x1200 res, no aa.

Is that a dual core CPU? It may be bottle-necking your GPU.

No, its a intel quad core CPU. Its not really a performance issue, the game shouldn't freeze like that and the sound distortion indicates there is something else going on i think. Arma3 runs fine in all situations but just firing that one weapon causes the issue....
