disableChannels semi-functional
Assigned, WishlistPublic

Description

I've found two bugs - In my mission, Stratis-RP:Ultimate, I've disabled all the channels except for direct communications. A bug I see is that group channel is still enabled although I disabled it - and there are no other units grouped to the player.

The second bug is that sometimes a player would join and still have access to disabled channels and continue to text and speak in them while others cannot. {F19939}

Steps to reproduce with repro mission:

  1. Download the repro mission.
  2. Run it in a multiplayer game.
  3. Note that global- and group-channels are still enabled.

I just noticed, that zooloo75 did not note that disableChannels also fails to disable global channel with group channel as well.

The functionality of this command is vital for multiplayer, and it is frustrating to see such a simple thing not fixed.

I don't know why, but group channel cannot be disabled with disableChannels command, also its also working when
enableRadio false;
enableSentences false;
So please, BIS, do something about group channel

I know, its not a solution for your server restriction problem, but it would be nice, if Bohemia integrates seperate volume sliders (global, side, group & vehicle) in the audio options. So every client is able to choose, what channel he wants to hear (excluding the direct communication).

Feel free, to vote for that option: http://feedback.arma3.com/view.php?id=16196

There should also be an option to disable join/disconnect messages.

I can confirm that Direct and Group channels are still available after being disabled in description.ext

Greetings,

We were able to reproduce this problem only in direct hosting and only for server player. Can you please confirm that it still presists in current SteamDev 1.17.116429? All dedicated sessions were functioning as they were suppossed to.

Thank you a lot.

note: this might be related to the "Group chat" being default for roles selection / briefing screens ...

the fix needs to ensure that disable channels at that point is either not possible or gets another option like disableChannelsBeforePlayingMission[]={arrayofchannels};

Please fix this asap!!!
And if it ain't possible, remove the f** "steam-ticket check fail massage". This massage doesn't help at all. It shows up if a player have a timeout, ctd, bluescreen and has nothing to do with steam-tickets.
Also the "XY" connected, disconnect Massages are such a pest.
Or are there other ways (except moving the the box out of the screen in the layout options) to prevent showing up such immersion-breaking massages
