Helicopter pilot is drowning after low flying over water.
Closed, ResolvedPublic

Description

Not sure it can be considered as an issue but: When you put a helicopter over the sea with elevation 0.2 for example and with flying mode: the helicopter touch the sea a little instant and fly. But after that the pilot will drown himself in the air.

EDIT CSR Kryssar:
Pilot is not actualy drowing (seems that pilot won't die); the game only starts the drowing graphical postprocess. When player land the chopper on dry land everything changes back to normal.

Thank you for this repro.

Check please.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Bug #7626 is not a duplicate of this bug.

Bug #7626 is actually the opposite, when hovering at 0m clears the burry or fogged windshield. I believe it's a trigger thinking the chopper has landed on ground, but the chopper is only hovering at 0m on water.

Also, if I'm not mistaken, the blurring effect is likely just the blurring or fogging of the windshield from water spray.

But I now see what CSR Kryssar is possibly saying, this blurring effect should not be happening at all and my interpretation of it is wrong! ;-)

Should be fixed in current dev version. Could you please check it and let me know? Thanks

I believe I'm on current dev version 0.57.105210 and am still seeing this occurring.

I'm thinking as I currently monitor the Developer Changelog, maybe you're running a newer unreleased developer version than us? (See the notes within the Developer Changelog stating, no new exe - yet.)

Thanks to some good advice from some other players, they suggested turning off post processing which easily avoids all this unreal screen blurring exhaustion simulations. (Well, I don't know how much of it is unreal. But in reality, by eyes do not blur! ;-)

Hi, I'm running the game with the dev version:0.57.105210, the issue is still there.

My game updated yesterday and now today's 300MB download 0.58.105348 and this definitely is fixed now.

I tested by hovering both little birds and KA-60's over still water and submerging the bellies of the choppers below the water line. Upon leaving, still had crystal clear vision.

Cheers! Should now be able to perform sea insertions much easier.

Only issues now are laggy Internet connections during sea/ocean insertions. Sometimes the passengers do not get a "Get out" prompt at below the pilot's stated 3m hieght. I haven't tested this later issue to see if it has been fixed as well, but will do so tomorrow. If it's still present, I'll file the bug.

Can mark this bug as closed. ;-)

v0.59.105455 : the bug is still there.

OK. This is weird. Are we out of sync of receiving updates? My game received build *05348 approximately six hours ago. (Or just prior to 2013-05-21 14:07 and the update was a huge 300+ MB download.)

According to the Developer Changelog, build 05348 is the latest EXE build. Your build is "*05455", an earlier version as stated within the Changelog.

Are you sure you are seeing a "0.59.1*" prefix?

(Looks like the Changelog is in constant flux and the posters can change their entries. I noticed they added Stealth protocol, and I distinctly remember not seeing Stealth mentioned at all +6 hours ago. ;-)

I've just try again, and now it's version 0.58.15348... very weird ! Bug is FIXED now with this version.
Don't know what happens! thx for your feedback dude

Thanks for feedback.

Mass close.
